It’s important to understand the commonly-used terms Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) as you seek out care so you know what type of care you need, and how to go about finding and paying for it. ADLs and IADLs refer to personal activities and tasks that often become challenging for many people as they age. A person requires personal or custodial care when this is the case.
